The Two Biggest Mistakes Your Email Makes
We all rely on email. Keep your business email professional in looks (if not in content). Here are two mistakes we hope we never have to see again.
First, stop it with the free email from hotmail, msn, yahoo, gmail, etc.! Are you using these because you don’t know how to open up a business email account? Or is it you think you are being wise and saving a couple dollars for the year? The truth is, it’s working against you. You are promoting these national companies when you could be drilling further into people’s minds the name of your own business. Set up your own domain and email extensions for every employee, or do ‘catch all’ emails like ‘info@’ or ‘sales@’. It’s such a tiny thing, but it’s the right thing to do. Second, figure out a consistent email signature and have everyone use it! It’s not cute or professional when every employee is putting their own take on how to present your company. Wait…you don’t even have an email signature? Then you are foolishly missing the chance to not only get your contact info in front of people in a convenient way, but a chance to get additional info across to them as well. Add your social media links, the date of an upcoming event, etc. Keep it brief, but get it out there!
